Mirriam Muchimba is a retired teacher. She holds a Primary School Certificate in Home Economics, a Certificate in Counselling, Guidance and Placement and a Secondary Diploma in Industrial Arts (Woodworking and Technical subjects).
She has International exposure, teaching in Botswana for 9 years in a Junior Secondary School. In Zambia she was privileged to teach both in Primary and Secondary Schools.
She has worked with Planned Parenthood of Zambia as a teacher and she facilitated in issues of Human Sexuality and HIV/AIDS, running the HIV/AIDS Clubs in various schools. She counselled students on issues like Self Esteem and Decision Making.
She loves talking to youths about their issues related to relationships and sexuality and has been trained and participated as a facilitator in the 8 week Purity Programs taught by Wings of Hope staff for sponsored children and other local youths.
She has come to Wings of Hope with a keen interest in helping youths understand their sexuality and break the “silence” of issues that are often taboo for discussion in the home so that good choices can be made from the empowerment of knowledge rather than the product of ignorance.
