Adrian Mashawu is the founder of Wings of Hope. Since 2014, he has been the Senior Administrator of a sponsor program at David Livingstone Memorial Pre and Primary School.

. Currently as Wings of Hope CEO, he counsels kids and parents on the importance of the entire family being involved in the child’s education.

He is a strong advocate of teaching kids necessary life skills in addition to embracing academic education.

Adrian attended Linda High School here in Livingstone and holds certificates in Projects and Event Planning and also in Business Management where he studied communications, customer relations, financial management, entrepreneurship and marketing.

Adrian has a passion and desire to help the vulnerable children in the community.

Debra Elliott was born and raised in California, USA.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BS - emphasis Finance) from California State University, Long Beach and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA - emphasis business development and finance) from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

She worked in various capacities of Financial Management, Strategic Planning and Contract Negotiations for Hughes Aircraft Company (a subsidiary of General Motors) and as a Controller for Hughes Environmental Systems, Inc. for a combined total of 27 years.   She left that job to pursue commercial financial businesses related to Mortgage Lending and Financial Counseling for individuals, which she did for 12 years.

Now retired from commercial business, she has been on the mission field since July 2014 as a Missionary working with David Livingstone Memorial Presbyterian Church (where she serves as an Elder, Stewardship Board member and Pastoral Assistant for youths) and her sending organization, The Antioch Partners in Texas, USA.

She has been the director of a school sponsor program at the David Livingstone Memorial Presbyterian School since 2008 and raises funds to help vulnerable children with primary school funding from her home church – Christ Pacific Church in Huntington Beach, California, where she served as an elder from 2011-2014.

She also raises funds to support youths from the church with secondary and/or tertiary education expenses and has now chosen to assist the newly formed NGO, Wings of Hope Community Outreach Limited in her new capacity as Director of Operations (Secretary and Treasurer) to expand that program in accordance with the goals there.

Reverend Dr. Christopher M’kandawire is the Senior Pastor at David Livingstone Memorial Presbyterian Church for the past 20 years.  He is the past moderator of the General Assembly of the Uniting Presbyterian Church  of Southern Africa (UPCSA) which is all Presbyterian churches in South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe (about 3,000 congregations).

He is the immediate past Moderator for the Munali Presbytery and the Business Convener of the General Assembly.  He is an Executive Director for Rock of Africa Mission (Zambia), a trustee member of the Pastor’s Fellowship of Livingstone and the Chairperson of the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ).

Dr. Mkandawire holds a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Louisiana Baptist University, a Bachelor of Theology degree from the University of Western Cape, diploma in Theology from UCZ Theological College, Certificate in Computer Studies, Tutor’s Certificate (TEEZ) and a Certificate in Bee Keeping.

Pastor Chris, as he is known by many friends, is kind, wise and passionate about mission which glorifies God.  He is widely known for his inspirational teaching and highly sought after as a speaker and advisor.

He has enjoyed 20 years of marriage to Rhoda and together they are raising 3 children after also raising several nieces and nephews.

“Pastor Buster” as his friends and colleagues know him, is the Senior Pastor at House of Testimony International Ministries, a church he and his wife Mwewa planted in 2012 in Livingstone.

Born in Mukuni Village, he trained with Faith Revival for the Nations Bible Institute and is ordained Reverend under the International Fellowship of Ministries (IFM); a John G. Lake founded Ministry based in Washington, USA.

Pastor Buster is an International Speaker who speaks the uncompromised Word of God and he ministers with a sense of humor.  He has ministered in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi, South Africa, Mozambique and the UK.

He brings Journalism gifts as a News Caster and Radio Programme’s Presenter at Radio Mosi-Oa-Tunya in Livingstone and he brings Acting skills as a Play Director. He is the Provincial Arts Advisory Committee (PAAC) Chairperson and a representative of the National Council of Zambia (NAC).

Pastor Buster has a high thrust in Leadership skills training and he sits on several school advisory boards.  He is also the Zambia Adjudicators’ Panel National Vice President.

And with all that, he finds time to father 4 children and is a popular Master of Ceremonies for weddings, government and corporate functions and many other events.

Rhoda M’kandawire is the Head Teacher at David Livingstone Memorial Presbyterian School in Livingstone, a successful Pre and Primary school she founded in 2000.  She holds a Certificate in Preschool teaching, a Diploma in Social Work and a Degree in Secondary School Education.

Together with her husband, Rev. Dr. Chris M’kandawire, she manages a family of 3 children and has raised several nieces and nephews.  Her near term plans are to do a Master’s program in Administration and Education and then open another school from Pre-School to Tertiary Education (College) skills training.

Somehow, she manages to find time to do wedding planning with elaborate decorations she designs herself as well as cater many local events, and has won awards for her cuisine.

Pastor Michael Zulu is a Pastor under the Pentecostal Assemblies of God Zambia. He is a resident Pastor of a Local Church he Pioneered called Worship Expressions.

Before being a pastor, Michael Zulu served as Director of One Voice Youth Network for 4yrs. While at theological seminary he served in different capacities ranging from Class Rep, Student Body Secretary and in final year at college he served as President. He graduated at the theological seminary in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology. He is currently doing his Masters in Christian Leadership.

Michael Zulu has served on many different boards such as YMCA, Vilole Images Productions, Expressions of Love Trust, and Child Care Plus. He is also in the Executive of the Pentecostal Assemblies Of God Southern Provice serving as Treasurar for 3 terms.

Among other things he does is do Part time Music Teaching, Public Speaking and Guest TV & Radio participant. He is married with two Daughters.

Musola Kaseketi is a Filmmaker and Human Rights Advocate extraordinaire.  She is the founder of Vilole Images Productions (2003), Shungu Namutitima International Film Festival of Zambia (2006) and Women and Girls with Disability Rights of Zambia (2011).

Born in Solwezi, Musola is the first international award winning Zambian woman Film Director.  She has trained in Design and Tailoring, studied Theater Art Management and Acting in Zimbabwe and graduated from the Newtown Film and Television School in South Africa with honors.

She has additional extensive training in Disability Equality Training, Messenger of Peace, Developing Community Leaders, Human Rights and Advocacy, Cinema and Festival Management among many others.

Besides making films that promote various causes, she facilitates human rights and video training workshops to enhance skills and encourage upcoming filmmakers, several of whom have gone on to be very successful in those careers.

She holds a long list of awards and nominations over the years as well as serves on a number of boards in various Executive capacities.

Setumo Ngula is a retired Head Teacher of Nalituwe Basic School in Livingstone. His extensive teaching career spans over 30 years, touching the lives of thousands of children and hundreds of teachers.He holds a Certificate in Primary School Teaching, a Diploma in Basic English Training, a Secondary Teacher’s Diploma and a Bachelor of Arts with Education BAED from the University of Zambia.

Mr. Ngula has a vast amount of experience with the issues facing Zambian Government Schools and the children who attend them. He has had to deal with issues of vulnerability for years and is passionate to assist Wings of Hope in his capacity of Director. Her serves as an Elder to the David Livingstone Presbyterian Church in Livingstone, is the Clerk of Session and also serves on the Stewardship Board.

He is married and fathers 3 children.

Felix Thindwa attended secondary school here in Livingstone at St. Raphael’s. He holds a diploma in Computer Systems Engineering from Northern Technical College in Ndola, Zambia.

Felix currently works as an Information Technology technician at one of the Internet service providers in Zambia. He has a passion for serving and helping the less privileged in the community and has supported Wings of Hope consistently from its inception. He has been teaching and facilitating the Boy’s Purity Classes conducted at Wings of Hope and was very successful at this.

He hopes to start his own business providing advanced IT services including Website Development in the near future and will be a great asset as a media expert.

Mirriam Muchimba is a retired teacher. She holds a Primary School Certificate in Home Economics, a Certificate in Counselling, Guidance and Placement and a Secondary Diploma in Industrial Arts (Woodworking and Technical subjects).

She has International exposure, teaching in Botswana for 9 years in a Junior Secondary School. In Zambia she was privileged to teach both in Primary and Secondary Schools.

She has worked with Planned Parenthood of Zambia as a teacher and she facilitated in issues of Human Sexuality and HIV/AIDS, running the HIV/AIDS Clubs in various schools. She counselled students on issues like Self Esteem and Decision Making.

She loves talking to youths about their issues related to relationships and sexuality and has been trained and participated as a facilitator in the 8 week Purity Programs taught by Wings of Hope staff for sponsored children and other local youths.

She has come to Wings of Hope with a keen interest in helping youths understand their sexuality and break the “silence” of issues that are often taboo for discussion in the home so that good choices can be made from the empowerment of knowledge rather than the product of ignorance.
